Synopsis
One of the most renowned Brazilian actresses opens the doors of her home and personal archives to share the story of her career. With the reverence of someone who addresses an ancestor and the the familiarity that comes with a decade of encounters, Juliana Vicente weaves together conversations, testimonials, reenactments, and archival materials to build a film about, yet also with Ruth de Souza, immortalizing a life journey that, like few others, is inextricably linked to the history of dramaturgy in Brazil. Juliana Vicente
Juliana Vicente is a director whose audiovisual productions focus on Black, Indigenous and LGBTQIAP+ themes. She participated in the Berlinale Talents in 2015. She has more than 20 short films in her curriculum, screened in the most prominent festivals in Brazil and the world. In 2017 she released the series "Afronta!" and in 2022 she released "Racionais: Das Ruas de São Paulo pro Mundo", a Netflix original production that earned first place in audience.
