“Dawn” narrates a Eurocentric perspective for social existence rarely found in Portuguese films in the festival circuit, stemming from documentary filmmaking to weave the short film, traversing naturalist cinema, until it arrives at a semblance of fantastic realism, not unlike the dawns experienced by the characters on scene. Leonor Noivo studied Photography and Architecture before enrolling at ESTC in Lisbon, where she specialized in Editing and Direction in 2004. She completed the Ateliers Varan Documentary Course in 2006 at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. She has since worked as an annotator, screenwriter, and assistant director in fiction films and documentaries in collaboration with several directors.
