Synopsis
In the arid countryside in the Midwest state of Goiás, the arrival of a mysterious stranger triggers a love triangle, disrupting Sandro’s monotonous routine as a fertilizer factory worker (played by Leandro Faria Lelo). In his first fiction feature film after two documentaries and several short films, Goiânia-based Nolasco continues to explore the geography of the tropical savanna and homo-fetishist imaginary. Appropriating, in his unmistakably Brazilian style, camp elements from leading names in queer cinema, he fashions a torrid and daring dialogue with melodramatic codes. (C. M)
