Synopsis
In this film inspired by the legacy of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, a drifter (masterfully played by Helena Ignez) wanders through the endless streets of Sao Paulo. She operates a mysterious mechanism, a dark chamber that houses metaphors, enabling all sorts of encounters between subjects and worlds, real or fabled. Evoking Salvador Dalí’s eponymous painting, the film takes the freedom of Lorca’s verses as a spark to sense the spirit of contemporary Brazil, between reactionary demonstrations and everyday life in a Guarani village, in all its potencies and contradictions.
