This film offers a glimpse into the story of Lúcio and his family, who live in a seaside village and endure the daily psychological violence of their father, Jorge. Lucio loves mermaids and on his birthday his mother surprises him, but the small joys are hastily curtailed by the man who refuses to accept things as they are. (M.M.)
