During a flight stopover in Lisbon, Salomé is asked by a cleaning lady in the airport bathroom if she is Mila, “Dona Ricardina’s daughter, from Assomada”, who also happens to be her childhood friend. Or at least she was once. As she returns to Cape Verde due to her brother’s serious health condition, Salomé will face her past in a distant land she no longer recognizes. While staying at a friend’s house whom she no longer remembers, Salomé recalls Mila. From the memories of a body that no longer belongs anywhere, she will recall the pains and joys of being home. *(K.M)
