A sister films her younger brother, who comes of age as he yearns to find his place in the world. Beginning from this very simple structure, the film develops multiple layers in what it portrays: a place, a generation, a social class, gender relations. As the director seeks to construct him as the object of her film, the character repeatedly rebels against the constraints of this role, demanding a constant rearrangement of forces and affections.
