Synopsis
“The Future Innu” is a sensitive short film, which eloquently unites the poetics of words and images as a counterweight to the dual identity experienced by director Stéphane Nepton. As he wanders through a metropolis that moves in reverse, his thoughts inhabit another territory that, while distant, preserves its roots. (RIDM)

Stéphane Nepton was born in 1971 in Sept-Îles on Québec’s North Coast. He is Innu from Mashteuiatsh. He’s been working as a videogame FX artist for 22 years and is also a digital artist. Stéphane also co-founded Uhu labos nomades, one of his greatest social achievements. He created his first short "L’Innu du Futur" (The Future Innu) as part of Wapikoni’s 2021 virtual studio cohort.
