Get dressed, undress, get dressed, undress. Assorted diagnoses. Longstanding flaws. New glitches. Medical exam rituals become an essay on the director’s own body and the nature of our lack of control in the face of inevitable aging. With a keen sense of humor, Su Friedrich invites us to follow her on a journey of surgeries and conflicts with a health system that doesn’t work. Her own image, constantly cut by the camera’s frame, mirrors the cuts her body undergoes along this path. (C. A.)
