Synopsis

Amid the vast, white landscape of a northern Quebec village, two women stand in opposition yet supporting each other. The spellbinding ancestral heritage song emanating from their throats reverberates throughout the small community, crossing the Arctic winter. (RIDM)

Eva Kaukai, Manon Chamberland

Eva Kaukai was born in Nunavik and grew up in Kangirsuk. With Wapikoni Mobile, she was able to use sound and video to express her reality, her culture and her attachment to the land through throat singing. Manon Chamberland was born in Nunavik in 2002.
