Synopsis

The mobile structure of a wooden boat with loudspeakers is taken to the Chilean coast to recount the old traditions and present-day difficulties of a fishing community living in the region of Valparaiso. In 'Lands of the Sea', Mexican director Azucena Losana revisits the homonymous sound installation by the Colombian artist Leonel Vasquez, experimenting and reconfiguring it from audiovisual language and film materiality, echoing the voices and memories of men with emotional and economic ties to the sea.

Direction

Azucena Losana Born and raised in Mexico City, 1977. Lives and works in Buenos Aires. Attended the Multimedia Arts Degree at the National Arts University in Argentina, the Abigail Child Found Footage workshop and Claudio Caldini's experimental film workshop. Her work is related to experimental films, installations and video.
