The separation between past and present, in this fiction film by Vietnamese filmmaker Phạm Ngá»c Lân, does not invoke a rupture, but a movement towards continuity in space, a coexistence within the image. There is, in 'Blessed Land', a rezoning of urban space, which is, above all, a rezoning of memory itself, a territory inhabited simultaneously by the living and the dead.
