A documentary about the so-called Barter Clubs in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. In these meetings all sorts of things are exchanged: agro-ecological foods, handmade objects, stories, testimonials. The clubs establish, subtly and resiliently, self-managed modes for the circulation of goods that resist the dominant logic of global capital. The inclusion of solidarity and affection in these exchanges becomes patent when the new “currency” is baptized: pinhão, a vital local food for the cultural history of these communities.
