Synopsis

To be a woman when they want a man, to be a descendant of black and native people when they want Germany, to be alive when they want you dead. In this autobiographical film in super-8, director Laysa Machado confronts us with a manifesto about crossing borders and the existences that resist a cursed and foreign norm.

Direction

Laysa Machado Laysa Machado is a transsexual black woman from the ghetto. She produced and starred in the short film ‘Morada Transitória’ and wrote and directed the super 8 film 'Cursed' in a single shot. She is an actress, producer and screenwriter for the web series ‘Mulheres em Série’. She starred in the short film 'A Primavera de Fernanda', by Débora Zanatta and Estevan de La Fuente. She was also an actress in the feature film 'Hotel Delire', by Cláudio Bittencourt and Diego Lopez, and in the series ‘Contracapa’, by Guto Pasko and Andréia Kaláboa.
