MINISTÉRIO DA CIDADANIA, GOVERNO DO PARANÁ E COPEL presents

Synopsis

One of Ruiz’s most celebrated films is also one of the great “puzzle films”, whose plot contains mysteries for characters to solve, and whose intricate form invites viewers to assemble their own ideal work. A commissioned documentary about writer-painter Pierre Klossowski turns into a depiction of an unnamed art collector’s quest inside a 19th-century estate to recreate the missing member of a fictitious painter’s seven-work series. While the collector gathers models for tableaux vivants, an offscreen interviewer follows him in search of understanding what has been lost.
